Winnie’s Crochet & Art was founded in 2020 and has been providing quality crochets to the public ever since. We are located in Reston, Virginia, United States of America.
Winnie is a self taught crocheter,yarn lover, wife ,mother of a cute boy Aksel and lover of all things crafted. I learned crochet through watching my big sisters and their friends crochet house decorating items though mine never got to be used because it had so many colors from left over yarn that I got from my sisters/friends. My only time to practice what I had seen was when my sisters were playing so I could use their hook or on a good day one could surrender any extra hook to me 😀
Later when I was older, I resumed crocheting as an hobby which I loved doing every evening as I watched TV making small items/projects to gift my friends and family. This was my best part of the day where I had to forget about numbers as an accountant. During this time, I also watched YouTube to learn more and improve on my skills .I bought some patterns from other crocheters to try out and this made me happy every time I saw what I had made.
In 2020,my son who wasn’t born then became my inspiration to crochet Amigurumi .I first made a jellyfish which was exciting and I made lots more animals to decorate his nursery. My husband, friends and family after seeing my work encouraged me to start selling my projects. Together with the support of my husband Kim here we are today.
As for the Art, my friend Hannah and I are excited to share with you what we have. Hannah is an artist by profession whose inspiration comes from anything, anywhere , anytime and she puts it to work. She loves Art with a passion and I have learnt a lot from her.
